We had an AMAZING time at Barry's surf school! Barry was an amazing teacher and we caught the waves as soon as we hit the sea. His connection to surfing is beautiful and it really comes through with his teaching. Would 10/10 recommend and cannot wait to go again!

Booked Barry’s Surf School far in advance with no experience but I’m so happy I did. Myself and 3 kids aged 8-13 had such a good time that we booked another private lesson a few days later. The two surf instructors were awesome and while the owner thought my youngest was too small, Matt took a chance and she had a blast. The instructors were the perfect balance of caution, patience, and encouragement. I Highly recommend surfing, and this school was perfect for someone who thinks they couldn’t get vertical on a surfboard to save their life. By far the most fun of all the excursions we took part in. The school is in a great location with a nice beach for swimming and restaurants.

We have just had the best morning surfing with Matt. The staff in the shop are very welcoming. The learner surfboards are fantastic. Although Matt could stand on the reef it felt a long way out. After a couple of tries and some paddling we all stood up. By the end we were exhausted but exhilarated. Definitely a must do on Barbados if there are waves!!!

If you are already a surfer or wanting to learn to surf Barry’s is the place to go. They will take you to the most idyllic spots to catch a wave. This was our fourth time surfing with Barry’s surf school and this time we brought our two children ages 12 and 10 and we all had an amazing time. Matt was an incredible instructor who was able to get us all catching our first waves within minutes he is patient and gives amazing instructions and feedback. Thanks to Matt we now have a family that surfs and are looking forward to our next visit.

Barry’s Surf School in Barbados is incredible for beginners, especially with Matt as an instructor. He’s knowledgeable, patient, and breaks down each step in a way that builds confidence. Matt encouraged me every step of the way, making sure I felt ready before hitting the waves. He has a fantastic eye for detail, giving small tips to improve my balance, posture, and timing throughout. With his expert guidance and friendly support, I managed to catch my first wave first time which was amazing and more! And I kept coming back for more! If you’re looking to learn or improve your surfing skills, Barry’s is the place to be. Highly recommended! Top Barbados experience for anyone ready to ride the rush!
