Got some lovely tuna steaks here. We’ve tried a few other fish sellers but this one is tops!

Melissa at Payne's fish market is brilliant! We thought it would be nice to try some different fish and cook them ourselves whilst we are on holiday. Melissa was so helpful and provided us with instructions on how to cook and season the fish. Melissa is excellent at filleting the fish, and its amazing to see.
We have now been back to Melissa several times over trying different fish from swordfish to barracuda. I highly recommend going to Melissa at Payne's fish market and will be going back ourselves when we are back in Barbados!

Melissa is magnificent. Great intel on fish and local politics of women as recognised fisher folk in Barbados. Her Tuna was fresh off the boat and made delicious sashimi.

You have to visit Melissa at Paynes Bay fish market. She is a lovely lady that prepares fish expertly with a smile. Great fish, great service, great experience. We will definitely go back next time we are in Barbados.

Beautiful fresh fish, prepared as you watch and chat to the lovely Melissa! She is working hard to build her business, coming out of COVID, high fuel costs putting fishermen out of business and less fish stock in the sea, are making things difficult. You can help by going every day at 11.30, except Sundays, to buy fresh from the boats, at Melissa's market in Payne's Bay! Forget paying 60+BBD for one small portion in a fancy restaurant, we just bought 1.35kgs of beautiful Tuna steaks and King Fish fillets, all perfectly prepared, for 84BBD, takes minutes to cook and makes a memory you'll never forget!!
