We stayed for two weeks in October 2022. The house is very nice, the garden and outdoor shower are ideal for a surf stay. Mike and Mia are superb hosts, just very kind people. We look forward to come back one day. Vincent and Monique

Surfers Shack
We have just come back from an amazing holiday in Barbados, we stayed at the Surfers Shack literally 30 seconds from the beautiful Freights Bay. I don’t usually write reviews but The Shack was everything and more that you would want, it is so spacious and clean inside with Aircon, fans, WiFi, television system, kitchenette etc and outside there was a decking area with a table and chairs, there was also a garden with a BBQ and eating area, oh and washing facilities too. The location is perfect, you can surf and snorkel during the day…..so many huge turtles to see and there is a surfing school a few minutes walk down the road, we also walked to Miami Beach for the day a few great restaurants on the way and it’s only a 20 minute slow walk to Oistins where there are restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc also bus services to everywhere. The location was absolutely perfect and our hosts Mike and Mia were amazing nothing was too much trouble so I would definitely recommend The Surfers Shack to everyone and will definitely be back again.

Mike & Mia's Surfer shack was the perfect place for me. I was looking for something quiet and simple. The decor inside is charming and the 3 outdoor spaces are just an extension of the shack so it felt much larger than expected. The bed is comfortable (I slept great) and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook for myself. The desk was a helpful addition with my remote studies. I enjoyed the vibe so much that it never occurred to me to turn on the TV. The neighborhood was safe & pleasant at all hours with the welcome sound of the monkeys that showed up almost daily and the neighbors and across the street picking mangos. It's proximity to the beach and surf break was an easy short walk to watch the sunset in the evening. Wayne, (the local rasta surfing instructor) and his 2 boys were at the beach most days and I enjoyed talking to them and learning more about the island. Mia & Mike are excellent hosts. When I arrived there were fresh eggs from their chickens on the kitchen counter. I wish I could have stayed longer and I hope to return.

A wonderful stay in this beautifully comfortable little getaway, seconds from the best beginners surf beach on the island. And with ideal and considerately kind hosts, on hand when needed to make the stay extra comfortable. Relax in the cool breeze in the lovely tropical garden, or kick back in the beautifully presented studio. Ideal for remote working or an active holiday. Loved the stay, and if you are lucky there’ll be fresh eggs from the host’s chickens. A real gem.

I had the best time at freights bay surfers shack!
Mia & Mike were the best hosts and made the stay comfortable and as welcoming as possible!
Waking up to white butterflies everywhere, chickens with fresh eggs and Home made guava jelly was the best! And it was a stone throw away from the beach and shops such as Masseys and ofcourse OISTINS 🥰😍
The bed was SUPER SIZED & very comfortable and even though it was a studio it was extremely spacious.
Mike was kind enough to help us with the TV so we can watch Netflix (that’s if we needed to barbados is plenty entertaining lol) Mike also kindly helped us with food spots like Chicken Rita’s which was AClass food! .
Overall I had the best time here and the best bday also! (They kindly gave me a card n a bottle of wine too 🥰) As I work mobile, working from abroad was super easy as their WiFi is super fast and reliable!
I’ll definitely be back ASAP. Thanks again guys!
