We found our happy place!! Absolutely stunning gardens, a must see if visiting Barbados. We spent hours there and that wasn't enough! We met the incredible Anthony Hunte and enjoyed a very relaxed time speaking with him ... such a humble man who has given so much for the pleasure of others, it made our visit even more memorable. The beauty of this place is breathtaking!

Heard about Hunte's gardens whilst researching things to do. And then as luck would have it we picked up a voucher.
We were out exploring and decided to give Hunte's a try.
It really is enchanting!
It's in a collapsed cave - sink hole, and the gardens have been set out beautifully.
Absolute must see!
You can also meet Mr. Hunte and share a drink with him, on his veranda come gift shop.
It's a botanical delight, and there are plentiful birds to hear and see.
Would highly recommend this as a trip out. Whilst your in the area there is cotton hill signal station round the corner and gun hill signal station isn't far away.

Not huge but stunning gardens in a striking basin filled with some of the most amazing flowers and plants I've ever seen. Mostly the work of one man. And the best thing is, after your have ambled around and sat to take it all in at one of the many seating areas, you can meet the creator himself. And what a genial host he is! Generous with his time to answer questions about the garden and it's contents. I'd recommend Mr Hunte's Rum Punch - actually one of the best I've had on the island

Definitely one of my favorite stops in Barbados. I could have spent hours in these peaceful gardens. If you like beautiful backdrops for photos, basking in the beautiful flora and fresh air, and a sense of tranquility, these gardens are a perfect spot. I liked the scavenger hunt style classifications of the plants. They were all beautiful and in bloom. It would be a great place for a private proposal! There are two friendly rescue cats on the property and the proprietor was so friendly and invited us in for a shot of free rum at the top of the gardens.
The only drawbacks were that it is not wheelchair accessible, and there are millipedes on some of the stepping stones you've got to watch out for.

Beautiful garden. Off the beaten track. Not easy to get to unless on a costly tour or in a car. BY local transport.. buses are not comfortable or regular, but I made it!! Was disappointed to be told no refreshments available. Mr Hunt was not there. I gather he's now in his 80s. Cost to get in equivalent of £15. The garden realistically takes approximately 45 mins To go round. Toilets available. But I do think that it was a shame no where to sit and have a cup of tea. THIS by the way is in contrast to what it says on the advertising!!! The entrance lobby area manned by an elderly basian lady. All rather dilapidated. I felt this let the place down..
