I booked this food tour on TripAdvisor. It was a great tour with many food items to try, and lots of history about the island. It was one of the first things i did on the island and it was great.
-Meeting point to start was independence square down town bridgetown. there was a option to include transportation but i didnt do it, i made my own way. if you are along the coast road south of bridgetown, you can get in any of the small white buses going towards bridgetown. you tell them where you want to go and they say ok or not. Its only 4 barbados dollars (2 US).
-There was 2 tour groups starting, im am not sure if the other is the exact same tour or different tour, but it was the same company. They had a guide, and we had a guide, Paulette. There was sopost to be 7 people plus the guide, but 4 didnt show up for their pickup, so it was just me and a couple from Whales. we started a bit late because of them being late from waiting for the other 4.
-once we got started everything was smooth and great. Paulette started with some history about the tour and the island. Tell her early if you are vegetarian and she can call ahead to some places to change order. we went across the bridge to the boardwalk and heros square.
-First stop was bakery, with samples of bread and sausage and rum cake.
-then to tims resturant for samples of local foods
-visit some fruit stalls
-Go to the skyline cafe for some fish cakes and lentil cakes. The Lentil cakes with hot sauce is the best, i came back here on 2 other days to get some more, bringing my own bottle of hot sauce
-some sightseeing in the market street, and local historical buildings, with history.
-then to court yard cafe for more local food samples. By this time we are getting full, but the food is very good!
-then a stop at a local vegan chocolate and ice cream shop. They have a little factory in the back that you can see through glass walls. We had samples of icecream from our tour, i had strawberry and it was VERY good. Its coconut based ice cream, not dairy, but you cant tell the difference, its so good. I came back here for more strawberry ice cream another day, and i bought a tub of ice cream from the grocery store that was his chocolate flavor. It was all good.
-Tour ended at the chocolate shop, and those that were driven to the tour were picked up at the shop. I walked but we were only 2 or 3 blocks from our starting point and i went to explore the parliament buildings after
-We took pictures along the way, never a issue.
-Paulette was a great guide. Right when i arrived in the square i didnt know exactly where in the square we were sopost to meet, or what the guide would look like. But Paulette has a high visibility hat that is impossible to miss. I walked over and sure enough she was the guide. It makes spotting her at any time of the tour easy. She was very friendly and spoke well, loud and clear. Took care of us walking around and gave us time when needed to look at things or to eat. Everything seemed to run smoothly.
Overall highly recommend this tour, and Paulette was a great guide.

I recently had the pleasure of going on the Lickrich food tour in Barbados and it was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide, SHERRI was not only friendly and welcoming, but also incredibly knowledgeable about the local cuisine and culture. Being authentically Bajan, she was able to give us a true taste of Barbados through the delicious dishes we tried.
I was blown away by the variety of foods we got to sample, from traditional Bajan dishes to modern twists on classic recipes. Each stop on the tour was a new culinary adventure, and I loved learning about the history and ingredients behind each dish.
Overall, this food tour was a highlight of my trip to Barbados and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the island's vibrant food scene. Thank you to our fantastic tour guide for an unforgettable experience!

I recently had the delightful opportunity to join the Lickrish Food Tour in Barbados, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Our guide, was a warm, funny, and welcoming host, brimming with knowledge about the local cuisine and culture. As a proud Bajan, she provided us with an authentic taste of Barbados through the incredible dishes we enjoyed. As well as sharing the history of Barbados.
She also went above and beyond to make sure that we knew where the best Markets were for all the good veggies and fruit =).

Hello,
This was a very nice walking tour in the city.
Was nice to experience the local people and the city vibe.
The food was very good and to our expectations, we wanted a way to try bajan food and we had it.
Shari was an amazing guide.
Really recommend it.
I did other tours in Barbados but this was my favorite thanks to Shari, she was nice, friendly and welcoming.
Thank you

I loved my tour! I did the Original Bajan Walking Food Tour. It was amazing and all the food was delicious. I thought we were just tasting food, but instead, we got a lot of history as well. I thought it was a great balance. Do not eat anything before this tour! This tour is not all small bites. There are full meals included. I was so stuffed, I could not eat another bite, and that's exactly how you want to feel. It is definitely worth the money! The tour guide was friendly and very well informed. I definitely recommend this tour.
Stop 1: Crumbz Bakery, where we sampled 2 cakes. One was rum cake.
Stop 2: Tim's Restaurant and Bar, where we had a full meal of mac and cheese, chicken, salad, and yucca.
Stop 3: Tasted 2 of the most amazing desserts. I forgot the names, but one is similar to peanut brittle, but better!
Stop 4: Stopped at a local take out spot and got fish balls. They were awesome, but I was already so stuffed. They gave us like 3 of them!
Stop 5: Another full meal! Rice, salad, meat . Delicious as well.
Stop 6: Ice cream
