We kinda liked our stay here!! Pros: serene, beautiful nearby coastline and neighbourhoods, newly appointed rooms, very clean with good basics like tea and a microwave. We loved taking a long morning walk to Miami Beach. We loved that it is well off of the very beaten tourist track. The green smoothie was good but I think I could taste sweetener. Cons: the BEAUTIFUL gardens are so well tended to the gardener thought appropriate to start his leaf blower up for the 3/4 leaves and water around the pool at 7am. The service in the restaurant was a touch slow. We couldn't get out of the gate at the side to get to the beach, barman couldn't help. Some of the staff seem a little hopeless when we wanted quick solutions (like staying an extra half an hour in our room post check out time). They made up for it though, by letting us use the hospitality room for 45 mins as we'd checked out and been to the beach and needed to freshen up for our late flight. Overall really good place - imo a little overpriced for the location. Car rental is an absolute non negotiable if you stay here.

The hotel is visually appealing, quiet, and has great service from the staff. While my experience had some major inconveniences, I appreciate that the hotel was transparent about the situation and did their best to resolve it. I originally booked a king-size bed with a view but was given a twin bed instead due to overbooking. While the staff acknowledged the mistake and initially offered a complimentary breakfast as compensation, it didn’t feel sufficient given the circumstances. After pushing for a better resolution, I was eventually credited for one night. While I appreciate the effort, the situation was still frustrating—especially since other guests who checked in after me received their correct rooms. Pros: • Transparent and accommodating staff who genuinely tried to make things right • Quiet and peaceful environment • Good service overall Cons: • Overbooking issues, which led to room downgrades despite advance reservations • Location isn’t ideal—everything is far, requiring either a car rental or reliance on the hotel’s shuttle service (though the airport is only 15 minutes away) • The AC in our room was faulty, hotel accommodated fan and fixed the AC the next day and it broke down later that night. Would I Recommend? Yes, but with the caveat that you should call head of time to confirm before checking in. Would I go back? No

If you're looking for something a little secluded, quiet and peaceful, try South Point. It's not too far from the main attractions, bars and restaurants, but it's also not walkable. Service was lovely all around. Isaac and Shane in the restaurant were particularly helpful during our stay. The brightest 5 star of said stay was the restaurant. We didn't dine every night, but we should have. It was the best food we experienced during our 14 day stay on the island. Sometimes it took a little long, but hands down it was worth it. Well done South Point team. See you next year.

Entrance to South Point was welcoming by Whitley the front desk representative. The staff were friendly and approachable. The rooms were nice but alot of details were omitted or not maintained for example towels were not replenished daily, no water in the fridge beyond the first day in the room, no phones in the rooms. The furniture coverings were not maintained/dingy looking. We disregarded this due to the kindness of the staff but when another guest obtained access to our room via key card this was unacceptable. The situation was handled poorly and management didn’t know what they were doing. My sister who had years of service in the travel and tourism industry had to tell this woman what to do. It was truly astounding that our safety was entrusted to people who didn't have a clue. Compensation was a ridiculous conversation. At this point our time at south point was tainted. This trip was not a vacation but the wishes of my father to be returned to his place of birth.

I booked online after a flight we were on was cancelled last minute. Because it was after 7PM, many hotels in the area did not allow online booking for the same day. But South Point did. So I reserved a room. When I arrived at the hotel (after a $25 USD taxi ride), I walked into the lobby and saw another family from our airplane, who said that they arrived at the hotel and had their reservation cancelled. When I approached the desk, the employee told me that he had just cancelled my reservation (when I walked away I saw that I had received an e-mail). We were then forced to find another place to stay after investing the in the time and the cost of the taxi to get there. Ironically, the email that I got from them has a no cancellation policy for the booking. Seems a bit hypocritical. 16 days later I have not received a refund. I have called the number and can't get through. I have emailed them at two different email addresses and gotten no response.
