Sorry, this is not hotel, stay one night and leave. No food, old room. Also, I paid for the room by expedia, and to make check-in, she asked for US 50 for room cleaning. What is this?

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was well looked after. Mrs. Preece is expertly hospitable and I enjoyed the greenery surrounding the location! Thank you again.

Disgraceful, deceitful and dirty.
The owner Christy is absolutely appalling. I don’t know how she gets away with the deceit. She lies through her teeth about the facilities and the rooms, and she even resorted to updating the listing on Vrbo 4 days after I arrived to remove the private kitchen after I said I was disappointed. The spaces are shared when they are not listed as such and on Vrbo you cannot even list rooms with shared spaces so she lies in order to get more bookings and list online on more sites. She is a con-artist and exploitative. Very deluded about her offerings in the way she talks about them and treats you like you are in her way and she is doing you a favour rather than a paying guest. She resented giving clean towels and clean sheets (I stayed for 24 days so obviously needed those things) and the place was filthy. There were rats running around outside all the time (and I was careful not to leave food or drink out). It was disgusting and I had my 18-month year old son with me and it was not comfortable. She tried to charge me 120 USD for stains she couldn’t remove from the sheets (which were not hard to remove and I offered to clean them myself). I want to leave after day 4 of our 24 day stay because of the misrepresentation (total lies!) on my booking but she refused to offer me a refund on the remaining days so got away with the lies and pocketed 2000 GBP of my money without consequence. I am pursuing this with Vrbo currently as it seems that she gets away with this repeatedly. She also did a similar thing to other guest I met during my stay (forcing them to share bathrooms and kitchens when that is not as advertised). It also takes a lot longer to walk to the beach (35-minutes) not the 12-15-minutes to tells people and is listed. Absolutely disgusting. I travel a lot and have lived in 6 countries - I have never had such an unpleasant exploitative experience in my life. It put a damper on our entire holiday. It was son’s first holiday and it was extremely disappointing.
Do not be fooled and do not stay here.

A fantastic time surely to be repeated! We were looking for a nice place to stay in Barbados, outside of a resort experience, to learn more about the culture, the people. The Barbados CHI Centre was just that! The cottage-like house is situated in the middle of a magnificent garden (some times the man looking after it may be around an give you a tour, thanks Box!) in a quiet cul-de-sac, and only a 30-min walk to the city, 5 to a busy road where minivans and buses stop. We used it as our headquarters while visiting Bridgetown. For us, having also the opportunity of interacting with the hosts, Ellen and Christian, was what made our stay supreme! They went above and beyond in making sure our stay was great, and they definitely did. We felt really welcomed and definitely come back if we are in the area.
