As they carve through the surging waters of world-renowned surf break “Soup Bowl,” their skill and passion breathe life into the very essence of the beach. Beach houses, boutique hotels, local restaurants and Rum Shops dot the Coast. Nestled between Bridgetown, the island’s vibrant capital, and the historic Garrison Savannah, Carlisle Bay boasts a rich maritime history, evidenced by the shipwrecks resting beneath its gentle waves.

The bay is a playground for snorkelers and scuba divers, specifically those along Pebbles Beach who can explore the shipwrecks and encounter the vibrant marine life teeming beneath the surface. Scuba instructors offering classes are available to take you out to the wrecks, G-Fish Watersports and Barbados Blue Watersports provide excellent packages and PADI instruction.

Carlisle Bay, stretching from the Warf to Pebbles Beach, offers watersports adventurers plenty to do. The well know Boatyard Club, Lobster’s Alive, Copacabana Beach Club and Savvy on the Bay, collectively offer great watersports and food and drink options. Paddle Barbados, located at Skippers Beach Bar, owned, and operated by locals Jason and Sarah Cole, offers visitors and locals alike, Kayaking, Stand Up Paddling, as well as Surfboard and snorkel gear rental. On Pebbles beach carpark you’ll find small bars and the famous Cuzz Fish Stand, towards the south is Bali Beach Club and Restaurant and the Happy Hour Spot for a beach cocktail. Here sunbathers can relish in the sight of luxury catamarans and fishing boats dotting the horizon, offering an authentic glimpse into Barbadian life.
